Honoring Small Businesses and Non-Profits

The Jackson County Chamber of Commerce’s 10th Anniversary ANCHOR Awards will be held on August 8th, 2018. The ANCHOR Awards was created to honor, reward and celebrate the achievements of outstanding small businesses and non-profit organizations in the community.  Sponsorship opportunities and tickets are available. Last year’s recipients (pictured) were the following: Compton Engineering, Inc. (Small Business Category 1); Community Bank (Small Business Category 2); Whimsy Books & Toys, LLC (Rookie Category); and Feeding the Gulf Coast (Non-Profit Category).

 

“The Jackson County Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber’s Small Business Issue Manager Group recognize that small businesses and non-profit organizations are the ‘anchors’ that make the community successful,” says Carla Todd Voda, IOM, President and CEO of the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce.

 

The ANCHOR Awards program will be held on Wednesday, August 8th, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at Pelican Landing Conference Center in Moss Point. Applications for the ANCHOR Awards are due on June 22nd and are open for the following nomination categories:

 

  • Rookie Business of the Year Award

Company has been in business more than one year but less than three years (with under 200 employees).

  • Small Business of the Year Award Category 1

Company has 50 or fewer employees

  • Small Business of the Year Award Category 2

Company has 51 to 200 employees

  • Non-Profit Organization

An entity with IRS Section ‘501(c)(3)’ status

 

The Chamber is here to support community and business development within Jackson County. Opportunities such as this are available exclusively to members of the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce. Small businesses make up nearly 85 percent of the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce membership. The Chamber is here to support community and small business development within Jackson County. All businesses, organizations and individuals are invited to be a part of the Chamber membership.
