Jackson County offers access to a variety of healthcare resources as well as options for a healthy lifestyle.  Pascagoula and Ocean Springs are home to the award-winning Singing River Health System (, and there are a variety of medical clinics, urgent care facilities, doctor and chiropractor offices, cosmetic and medical facilities throughout the county.  Healthy lifestyle options include a variety of outdoor activities with the cities’ parks and recreation departments, civic organizations and businesses.  There are farmer’s markets as well as a variety of healthy options through the local grocery stores and super markets.


Jackson County is a great place to live, work and play.  It has thousands of acres utilized for white tail deer and turkey hunting while small river camps dot the landscape of the Pascagoula River Wildlife Management Area.  The cities and Jackson County have fulltime parks and recreation departments that offer family reunion facilities, boat launches, basketball courts, parks and playground equipment, including several splash pads, walking paths, swimming pools, football and baseball fields, volleyball courts, shoreline fishing on piers and picnic shelters and pavilions.  Championship tennis courts are available through the cities and at private country clubs.  The Mississippi Gulf Coast YMCA offers a full-range of recreation programs throughout the year including an award-winning summer camp.
